The number of streams of “Sweet Victory,” from SpongeBob SquarePants, has risen 566 percent since its inclusion in the Super Bowl half time show, Billboard reports.
The song, which features in the episode “Band Geeks,” was used to introduce Travis Scott to the stage. And while the Pineapple-dwelling sea creature’s cameo was all too brief — taking up about eight seconds in total — its inclusion has caused an exponential rise in streams, hitting 310,000 on February 3 and 4, versus 46,000 on the two days previous.
That SpongeBob was included at all is apparently down to a petition that asked for the Super Bowl to pay homage to the animated TV show’s creator, Stephen Hillenburg, who passed away in November.
